• Always use a properly qualified lawyer with property experience who speaks your language.
• Do not use the same lawyer as the vendor.
• Do not rely on rental income in Portugal to repay the mortgage (potential income from future rent in Portugal will only be taken into consideration in exceptional circumstances)
