					- Always use a licensed Real Estate Agent when purchasing property of any kind. (You have no redress if something goes wrong if you don't)
 
					- Always use a properly qualified lawyer with property experience who speaks your language.
 
					- Do not use the same lawyer as the vendor.
 
					- Do not rely on rental income in Portugal to repay the mortgage (potential income from future rent in Portugal will only be taken into consideration in exceptional circumstances)
